Dr. Susan Branford holds the position of an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine and the School of Molecular and Biomedical Science of Adelaide University in Australia. She has special expertise in molecular monitoring of the BCR-ABL gene for patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia. As such she is a major contributor to international collaborative initiatives to establish guidelines and recommendations for producing reliable molecular data. Dr. Branford's main research is focused on the formation of the BCR-ABL gene, the mechanisms of kinase inhibitor drug resistance and the factors that predict for response to therapy and the development of drug resistance.
